  #baekhyun   #i finally found one akjskjshkj thank god for mari's gifs honestly   #i don't think people realize that beyond baek's seemingly confident and well put together exterior   #he's just as nervous as anyone else and he can also get easily overwhelmed as well   #he talked about it today during his lol broadcast but he mentioned he was so nervous about that performance   #so much to the point that he can't even recall a single memory from it because all he could think about was how anxious he was   #he stated that he's really terrified of heights and it probably showed in his expression at first and made him look uneasy   #and that this was the first time he ever had a duet with a female idol and the first time they performed that song   #so it only served to increase his anxiety and heightened his fears   #and i just find that little admittance of weakness and vulnerability to be so endearing about him   #although he seemed nervous - which clearly anyone in that position would be - he did so exceptionally well   #and to see him gain confidence as the performance went on and found some solid footing made me so proud   #and exo had just gotten done with back to back concerts in tokyo dome and went on a direct flight from japan to hong kong   #they barely had any time to sleep - i doubt they even did at all given the time frame   #and he was running on exhaustion and anxiety and yet that performance was so beautifully served vocally   #although shaky at first due to evident understandable nervousness - there was such clarity and depth there   #baekhyun remains to be such a professional when it comes to singing live and has always given the most outstanding vocal performances   #this is just another piece of evidence of that beauty in him as a vocalist   #regardless of anything he managed to still serve such a beautifully well done performance in the end   #i have all the pride in the world for him   #light of my life   #precious gift   #little prince   #treasure of the universe

  #baekhyun   #if there's anything i feel for baek it's always going to utmost pride and respect and acknowledgement for all that he accomplishes   #and people see baek and they just assume that he's had it easy - that he's this being of enormous confidence and proud status   #when it's always been the opposite - he's so hard on himself and one of the biggest perfectionists i know   #when he entered sm it was after several failed auditions with other companies - it was at an age where being a trainee was unlikely   #where his colleagues are leagues ahead of him in years and trained ability and he's barely scraping for time   #it's probably the easiest to feel sorry for yourself - to hold yourself as the victim of circumstance   #and to grow bitter of the challenges that you have to face - and yet the one thing i've never seen him do is perceive any of it pityingly   #among all the choreos and lyrics and melodies that he had to learn along with his future teammates   #he had to learn on his own time how to do any basics in dance and to completely restructure his voice   #and then in the midst of only a total of 11 months training - only 3 in which he was given the chance to truly learn the foundations   #he was given such a significant role of main vocal and such numerous responsibilities he probably found hard to prepare for   #carrying the team vocally in live performances as well as during variety despite his lack of experience in the industry   #eventually with his 'scandal' the amount of work he had to once again put just to gain back respect and confidence in him   #when the world was trying to tear him down he merely continued to pick himself up and continuously apologized and promised to improve   #when all he's ever done was work hard - even though he's never allowed anything to steer him off his track   #even though he's given the past years and years solely to us and the stage and giving his whole heart for the sake of his performances   #he still looked upon us and this stage with so much warmth - always apologizing and always improving and always being so grateful   #he still had the compassion and warmth in him to never give up and to continue to find so much love in him for his career   #despite his anxieties and fears and nervousness he had poured the entirity of himself into his work   #for these past five years not once has he gone easy on himself and not once has he ever caved in to any of the pressures given to him   #and that's what makes him fearless - not the lack of fear he holds but the amount of passion in him to face them and conquer over them all   #his passions have always won over his fears and that's one of the most beautiful things i've found in him   #for him to love his dreams so much that any sort of weariness and tiredness falls from view and remain insignificant in comparison   #that he's willing to abandon any sort of fear and anxiety for the sake of those dreams and that love for the stage   #and standing there is a boy who has given his all in order to get there and i have never been so proud as to have supported him   #everything you have little angel is everything you have worked hard for - never thank us you were the one who earned this all   #light of my life   #precious gift   #little prince
